The more we move forward, the more we come to realize that the way we think becomes more complex. Is this our choice? Maybe...but one thing is for sure, this is one thing that 'Post-Modernism' is very familiar with and good at doing.
As you mentioned, Philosophy is crucial in backing up Theology and that it is necessary in understanding where someone is coming from (ex. our future parishoners). When you get to Theology you will find more sense to some (if not all) the questions you posed in your entry. But at the end of the day, our crucial task is to help our parishoners - to translate all these concepts (ex. Transubstantiation, Immolation, etc) in a more intelligible manner (pastoral manner I would say, without compromising the essence of what we believe and understand as a Church). And the truth is that some of our people will find 'meaning not as the use' in a particular context, bec. the meaning of what we believe is not so much about how it is use within the context of our Church. The "Cross" of Christ for instance have its meaning or will makes sense to us in light with the Resurrection - because without it, the Cross will just be an empty sign, nothing but a medium for torture.M-!-K-E-Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05913485602397879359noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6295310269019332101.post-40832470962321894062009-03-10T21:57:00.000-07:002009-03-10T21:57:00.000-07:00Ah yes, but is that true? ;)We had our midterm las...Ah yes, but is that true? ;)

We had our midterm last week. I, for one, would be perfectly happy to never have to write about monads again.Beefy Levinsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10672190212311744730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6295310269019332101.post-60511778160160474952009-03-10T21:30:00.000-07:002009-03-10T21:30:00.000-07:00Meaning is Use.It doesn't get any simpler or coole...Meaning is Use.

It doesn't get any simpler or cooler than that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
